PRE-BALLET EDUCATION PROGRAМ

Pre-ballet education is a program for boys and girls aged 3 to 9 years.

PRE-SCHOOL LEVEL – Pre-Ballet I (from 3 – 5 years old)

                                          – Pre-Ballet II (from 6 – 9 years old)

ELEMENTARY LEVEL – Preparatory level (from 10 years old)

For students from pre-ballet division I and II, no audition is required before enrolling in school, because they are distributed according to age, while for students from preparatory level, in addition to age, their ballet experience is taken into account acquired knowledge.

In the classes in children’s disciplines or pre-ballet education, students are introduced to the basic concept provided in the annual program, depending on the level at which they attend classes. In pre-ballet education, students are focused on basic steps and terminology, musicality, flexibility and creative expression.

At these levels, attention is paid to interaction, creativity, choreography and cognition of the body and muscles. Level-by-level progress is based on annual assessments of each student’s technical ability, his or her physical ability, strength, effort, and regularity and active participation in classes throughout the year.

Each school year lasts from September 1 to June 15.

At the end of each school year, students have the opportunity to participate in an annual concert to highlight their achievements throughout the school year and gain experience with stage performance.

Pre-Ballet I (from 3 – 5 years old)

To enroll in this group, students must be three, four оr five years old at the beginning of the school year.

At this level, students attend classes until they are six years old, and after completing this level they continue to attend classes at the pre-ballet II.

In this group, students begin to study the basic elements of creative expression and movement and the basics of ballet. The pedagogues pay the most attention to the development of ballet socialization skills in the children, ie following the instructions of the ballet pedagogues and following the order of the class. Furthermore, they are working on developing their motor skills, coordination and musicality. Simple ballet movements enable the development of their body and mind. The lessons themselves provide creative games and stories through which students develop their creativity. In this group there is a practice of free expression at the end of each lesson, where students have space to improvise dance movements to a particular music. Also, certain props are used that serve to help master the exercises more easily and remember them. The most important thing for students at this age is to be satisfied with the lessons and get the right picture of classical ballet.

Pre-Ballet II (from 6 – 9 years old)

To enroll in this group, students must be six, seven, eight or nine  years old at the beginning of the school year.

At this level, students attend classes until they turn ten years old, and after completing this level they continue to attend classes at the ELEMENTARY LEVEL – Preparatory level.

In this group, the elements of creative movement and dancing that the students mastered in group pre-ballet I are supplemented with coordination exercises and exercises for sequentially related dance movements. More intensive work is done on the formation where the children learn where their place is in space. In addition to the floor barre exercises, there are exercises for strengthening their legs and feet, but also exercises for stretching and flexibility of their bodies. Basic exercises from classical ballet are taught, such as the basic positions of the arms and legs, plié and relevé.

ELEMENTARY LEVEL – Preparatory level (from 10 years old)

Participants in this group must be at least ten years old at the beginning of the school year.

At this elementary level, participants struggle with the basic exercises to master the work set-up, do, manage and head, create basic skills for step coordination.

At the beginning the students performed the exercises hidden with a ballet stick, holding with other hands. Later, the exercises are performed with one hand on a ballet baton, performed as one side, and then to the other, performing exercises on the left and then on their leg.

The ballet class consists of exercises on a ballet stick, exercises in the middle of the gym, jumps and exercises on pointed sneakers.
