Recorder

The recorder is a family of woodwind musical instruments in the group known as internal duct flutes- flutes with a whistle mouth piece, also known as fipple flutes.

The sizes most commonly in use today are the soprano, tenor and bass. Recorders are traditionally constructed from wood and ivory, while most recorders made in recent years are constructed from molded plastic.

The sound of the recorder is often described as clear and sweet, and has historically been associated with birds and shepherds.

Through individual and group lessons, Crescendo School of Music students are able to learn to play different playing tehnuque, perform on live concerts solo or part of an ensemble.
